- 3 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
- 3 tablespoon All Purpose Flour
- 2 Cups Beef Broth
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 tablespoon Mustard
Instructions
- Season the chop with Dad dust, Sea Salt and black pepper. Let it sit out at room temp while you cook your mushrooms.
- Make the Mushrrooms: Set the Dome 2 to Air Fryer 400F and let it preheat for 5 minutes. Toss the mushrooms in avocado oil and all of the spices. When the Dome 2 is preheated cook the mushrooms for 10 minutes and then give them a shake. Cook for an additional 10 minutes or until fully browned. Remove from the Dome 2 and set aside.
- Cook the Chop: Remove the Grate accessory from the Dome 2. Insert your Typhur Gold Sync probe into the chop. Pour a little bit of avocado oil in the chop and then place the chop down. Cook on Air fry at 400F until the probe reads 145F and let it rest for 10 minutes if you want medium well. If you want medium rare cook to 125F and it will hit 145F after resting.
- Make the Gravy: While the chop is cooking set a pan over medium heat and add in 3 tablespoon of Butter. Let it melt and begin to bubble. Add 3TBSP of flour and whisk well. Cook that for about 5 minutes, and then add in 2 cups of a good beef broth. Whisk until thoroughly combined, and simmer it for another 5 minutes. Now add in 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. Whisk and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Lastly add in 1 tablespoon of honey mustard and whisk until combined. Simmer on low for 10 minutes.
- Slice and serve with the mushroom gravy.

What makes this dish truly shine isn't just the meat. It's the tech behind it. The Gold Sync thermometer and the Dome 2 Air Fryer literally talk to each other, making sure your pork chop hits that perfect 145°F without the guesswork. No constant opening and poking, no overcooked disaster zones-just meat science and modern engineering working together to give you dinner greatness. And did I mention the mushrooms? Because there's a mushroom gravy involved, and it's everything.
Tech Meets Taste in This Air Fried Double Cut Pork Chop
Let's talk about why this recipe is different. First up: the meat. This isn't your average, thin-cut pork chop. This is a double cut, aged pork chop coming in at a solid 1.3 pounds. It's thick. It's beautiful. It's got serious presence. And it came from Wild Fork, who deserve a thank you for delivering the goods. Normally, something this thick would have you reaching for a grill or a cast iron pan, but not here. The Dome 2 Air Fryer not only handles the size, it handles it well.
The thermometer isn't just for show. Inserted right into the center of the chop, it delivers live temp readings straight to the fryer, which can then estimate remaining cook time and even tell you when it's done. It's smart, accurate, and takes all the guesswork out of dealing with such a thick piece of meat. Instead of stressing, you get to relax while flipping the chop every five minutes to build that golden brown exterior.
Meanwhile, the mushrooms aren't just a side note. They're a key part of the whole flavor experience. Tossed in avocado oil, salt, pepper, Herbes de Provence, MSG, and "Dad Dust" (a perfect 50/50 mix of granulated garlic and onion), they get roasted in the air fryer until beautifully browned. After that, they take a bath in a homemade gravy that gets simmered down with butter, flour, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and a surprise punch of honey mustard. These mushrooms don't sit on the sidelines-they jump into the gravy and soak up the flavor like it's their job.
Why the Air Fried Double Cut Pork Chop Works So Well
This dish isn't just about a pork chop. It's about control, timing, and simplicity. The Air Fried Double Cut Pork Chopcomes together with an ease that almost feels like cheating. Instead of relying on feel or experience to judge doneness, the technology ensures precision. You're not flying blind. That's especially important when cooking a cut this thick, where the outside can look done way before the center hits a safe temperature.
Adding the juices from the rested pork chop into the mushroom gravy takes it up another notch-no waste, all flavor. And the result? A juicy, tender chop that slices like butter, topped with earthy mushrooms in a rich, umami-packed sauce that's balanced with a tiny bit of tang from the mustard. It's savory, hearty, and satisfying in all the right ways.
The real surprise here is how well everything plays together inside the air fryer. From preheating with a splash of avocado oil for extra browning, to removing the center tray to get the chop directly on the bottom for optimal heat contact-every move made here was smart and effective. It's a masterclass in using your tools to their full potential, and it proves that the air fryer isn't just for reheating leftovers or crisping up frozen fries.
The Final Word on This Air Fried Double Cut Pork Chop
When it's all said and done, this recipe delivers more than just a tasty meal-it shows what's possible when you combine great ingredients with great tools. The Air Fried Double Cut Pork Chop comes out beautifully cooked, with meat that's juicy and flavorful, and gravy that adds just the right touch of richness. And it all happens in a countertop appliance with zero babysitting required.
For anyone who loves cooking with tech, or just wants a reliable way to make an impressive meal without hovering over a stove, this one's for you. The mushroom gravy alone is worth repeating, but paired with that thick-cut chop? It's next-level. Whether you're looking for a new weeknight dinner that punches above its weight or you just want to impress someone with your air fryer skills, this recipe proves that big, bold pork chops and smart kitchen gadgets are a match made in culinary heaven.
