Equipment

  • Stand Mixer
  • Rolling Pin

Ingredients

  • 3 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Cup Really Hot Water

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Run-on medium speed until the dough forms a ball, about 4 minutes.
  • On a well-floured surface roll the dough into a log.about 8-11 inches long.
  • Cut the log in half 4 times resulting in 16 even pieces.
  • Roll the pieces of dough into balls and flatten them with the palm of your hand.
  • Place the dough in a covered container and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • On a well-floured surface roll the tortillas to about a 6-7 inch round shape. If you like your tortillas a little thicker you can go smaller. Do not stack rolled tortillas on top of each other.
  • Cook in an oiled non-stick or cast iron pan over medium to medium-high heat. When the tortilla starts to bubble flip it and cook for a minute or two on the other side.
