When you deglaze a pan you are using a liquid in to break down the fond (bits in the pan) and create a sauce or gravy. Dad figured why not just "Mega Deglaze" the pan? The process is super simple but works really well. After this "Mega Deglaze" just about any pan is a breeze to clean up. So as soon as you begin to clean up, start this hack and by the time you are just about done the pan will be a breeze to clean.
How to Clean a Burnt Pan - The Easy Way
Equipment
- Heat Source
- Spatula
Materials
- 5 Cup Water Use enough to cover bottom of pot or pan.
Instructions
- Take your really dirty or bunt pan and place it over a heat source, stove top, grill etc.
- Pour in enough water to cover the bottom of the pan and the mess.
- Bring the water to a boil and let it boil for about 5-10 minutes.
- If the pan is stainless steel of cast iron use a metal spatula. If the pan is non stick use a plastic spatula. Take the spatula and as the water is boiling scrape the bottom of the pan to loosen up any gunk. Continue to do this until all the gunk has been dislodged.
- Pour the water out of the pan and the pan is now basically clean.
- Let the pan cool and them wash as you normally would, just with much less effort.
