Equipment

  • 1 Gallon Freezer Bag
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Long Tongs

Ingredients

  • 3 lb Pork Shoulder Steaks

Marinade

  • 8 tablespoon Minced Lemongrass
  • 2 tablespoon Fish Sauce
  • 3 tablespoon White Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon MSG
  • 4 tablespoon Neutral Oil Avacado
  • 8 Cloves Minced Garlic

Garnish and Veggies

  • 1 Large Tomato
  • 1 Large Cucumber
  • 1 Large Scallion
  • 4 Cup Broken Jasmine Rice Cooked

Garlic Fish Sauce

  • 6 tablespoon Water
  • 2 tablespoon White Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 1 Medium Thai Chili Diced Optional

Instructions

Marinade the Pork

  • Add all of the marinade ingredients and the steaks to a ziplock bag. Marinade for 3 hours to overnight. Overnight is better.
  • Remove the steaks and discard the marinade. Make sure to remove any lemongrass from the marinade that sticks to the steaks.

Fish Sauce

  • MIx all of the ingredients in a bowl and combine well until all of the sugar is dissolved.

Grilling

  • Grill on high heat until the pork is cooked to your desired doneness. It is best to cook until it reads 165F or 74C using an instant-read thermometer.

Serving

  • Serve with sliced tomato, cucumber, rice and the garlic fish sauce.
