This is how I make pizza using a gadget called the baking steel. The baking steel is basically a hunk of steel that is way better than a pizza stone.

How to Make Pizza Using the Baking Steel

Equipment
- Baking Steel
- Blender
- Pizza Peel
Ingredients
- 1 Pre-made Pizza Dough I Like Publix
- ¼ cup Flour For Dusting Surface and Peel
- 1 cup Dad's Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe on the Site
- 8 slices bacon
- ¼ lb Italian Sausage
- 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Instructions
- Rest pizza dough at room temp for 1 hour.
- Place baking steel in oven on 2nd from top rack.
- Preheat oven with to the hottest it will go (mine goes to 525).
- Allow baking steel to heat for 45 minutes to an hour.
- Roll & stretch the dough using flour under it and on it to avoid sticking.
- Once the dough is to your desired thickness put it on a pizza peel (flour underneath).
- Add a thin layer of sauce on the dough.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- CAREFULLY slide your pizza on to the baking steel using a pizza peel.
- Cook for 5-8 minutes (watch for the crust to brown and form bubbles).
- Remove from the oven and ENJOY!
