Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Jasmine Rice
  • 2 ¼ cup water

Instructions

  • Remove the lid from your instant pot.
  • Make sure you have your rice only silicone ring seated properly in the lid of the instant pot.
  • Remove the inner pot.
  • Add 2 cups of jasmine (you can use any white rice you like) rice to the inner pot. Measure the rice using the cup that came with the instant pot.
  • Cover the rice with water and swirl it around in a circular motion to agitate it.
  • Tip the inner pot over the sink carefully until the water begins to run out. When the water has just about stopped running out and the rice is about to reach the edge of the pot stop.
  • Repeat the fill, spin and pour 2 more times.
  • Add 2 and ¼ cups of water to the inner pot using the cup that came with the instant pot.
  • Plug in the instant pot.
  • Place your lid on the instant pot and turn it clockwise until you hear the music.
  • Make sure the toggle of the top is set to sealing.
  • Press the rice button and make sure it is set to 10 minutes. On Dad's Instant Pot there is no setting for high or low pressure. If yours does leave it on high.
  • Wait until the instant pot beeps to signal that it is done and turn the toggle on the top to venting.
  • Wait until all the steam has vented and turn the lid counter clockwise to unlock it and open it.
  • Use your rice scooper to chop up, stir and "fluff" the rice then serve.
